Our Heritage
CTC was created at the intersection of two long-standing global agribusiness traditions.
Founded in 1979, CTC was established through investment by Charoen Pokphand Group and Continental Grain Company. The cooperation brought international agribusiness experience into Shenzhen at the beginning of China’s reform and opening-up period and helped establish one of the country’s earliest modern feed operations.

Charoen Pokphand Group
Charoen Pokphand Group is a Thailand-based multinational group with businesses spanning agro-industry and food, retail and distribution, telecommunications and other sectors. Its global operations and long-term experience in agriculture and food have been part of CTC’s heritage since the company’s establishment.

Continental Grain Company
Continental Grain Company is a privately owned global investor, owner and operator with more than 200 years of history in food and agribusiness. Continental Grain’s own corporate history identifies the 1981 China feed mill established with Charoen Pokphand as the first foreign-owned feed mill in China.
